Salisbury area population is 41,370 and is served by a station on the outskirts of the city centre, making a long walk or a bus ride to the Cathedral its famous spire, and where the Magna Carta can be viewed. 

The station is a Brunel listed building.

The station is operated by SWT and is a terminus for trains from London Waterloo and an interchange for through services to Exeter and Bristol via Westbury.

There is also a FGW service to Romsey and Southampton Airport via Westbury.
