As part of Community Rail Week 2026, TransWilts has teamed up with Pets As Therapy to showcase the work they do in bringing calming influences to otherwise stressful situations.

From Monday 1st June to Thursday 4th June, volunteers from the charity will be at Chippenham station in the morning peak and in the afternoons on Tuesday and Thursday to greet passengers as they pass through to catch their trains,

Railway stations can often feel stressful, busy, and isolating environments. This project offers moments of calm, comfort, and connection through interaction with friendly, trained therapy dogs—helping to improve passenger wellbeing and enhance the overall station experience.

Pets as Therapy work with a number of organisations to provide comfort and confidence to those in schools, care homes, hospitals and workplaces with their specially trained dogs.
