The chief executive of the Community Rail Network has announced she is leaving the organisation after nearly ten years at the helm.
Jools Townsend saw the transition from the Association of Community Rail Partnerships (ACoRP) to CRN in 2020 and it now represents over 75 Community Rail Partnerships and more than 1000 station adoption groups.

She will be leaving at the end of June to take up a role with the Institute of Social Value. Work has begun to recruit a successor.
In stepping away she said: “I am really pleased that we have Community Rail Week in my final month, 1-7 June, which will be a last chance for me to celebrate all that community rail means, and an opportunity to say farewell directly to many of you.
It’s been an absolute privilege leading Community Rail Network and working with you all – I’ve been endlessly inspired and humbled by everything you do and the difference you make.”
