As well as the month long closure of Westbury station after Christmas, engineering work will also affect journeys to London between the 27th and 29th December.
Work is ramping up in west London to build a station at Old Oak Common for HS2 – the new high speed line to the Midlands. As a result all lines will be closed between Ealing Broadway and London Paddington until the early hours of Monday 30th December.
Most trains heading to Bristol Temple Meads, Exeter St Davids, Paignton or Plymouth, Oxford, Worcester, Great Malvern or Hereford or Newbury and Bedwyn will start from or terminate at Reading.
However there will be limited services from Cornwall and South Wales which will divert to London Euston. In the case of South Wales services these will call at Swindon but will NOT call at Reading.

In the following weeks there will also be disruption to services in the Thames Valley. On some Sundays long distance trains will terminate at Reading the Elizabeth line providing connections to London. Full details are available on GWR.com.
