Engineering work between Newbury and Westbury from Tuesday 10th to Thursday 12th December will again mean disruption for Wiltshire passengers.
To allow long distance trains to and from the West of England to be diverted along the single line through Melksham the usual Swindon to Westbury service will largely be replaced by buses running between Westbury and Chippenham via Trowbridge and Melksham. However two trains will run – at 07:52 from Westbury and 17:45 from Swindon. Normal services are set to resume on Friday the 13th.

Similar arrangements will also apply at Bedwyn for the three days with all local trains replaced by buses to and from Newbury via Hungerford and Kintbury. There will also be rail replacement coaches to and from Swindon for passengers at Pewsey.
