GWR will operate an extra 21 trains to and from Bath on the first Saturday of the annual Christmas Market – the 30th November.

Despite the almost 7,000 extra seats, trains in the local area will, however, be really busy between 0900 and midday, and between 1600 and 1930. GWR is warning a queuing system will be in place at Bath Spa for the return journey to help those board trains safely.

Christmas shoppers this year can also take advantage of direct Saturday services between Bristol and Oxford, calling at Bath Spa.

To keep those queueing in high spirits and in upholding the generosity of Christmas, GWR has teamed up with the Bath Abbey Choir, who will sing carols outside the station from 1815 on Friday 6 December.

A spokesman for GWR says providing crews for these extra trains will be prioritised to ensure the trains run.
